POST 5: CHANGES TO MY STUDY PROGRAMME

Music Theory has a two edged sword curriculum. On one hand, it has a vast variety of work opportunities once you graduate (well, at least if we speak about the many areas of specialization that you can learn). But, on the other hand, by being so widely oriented, you don’t get to dominate all the areas that you study. This wouldn’t be a problem if subjects weren't mandatory. If we had the chance to choose the subjects that fit in our areas of interest, the curriculum would be so accessible instead of the mess that we have now. Without counting CFG’s and sports subjects, a third year music theory student can have 9 subjects per semester. This loads a high amount of stress on students, especially if they have economic or transport problems. Like little, the faculty is extremely small and doesn’t have enough teachers to supply the student basic demands.
